What is Link Storage?
It is a free service that helps you protect your links from inconvenient people or automated robots with security such as captcha and password. We convert your links to direct links that act as autoforwarders to your original links. In addition, we optionally provide you with the ability to limit access to those direct links with a CAPTCHA or/and password. This protection appears on a protected page. We also offer you the opportunity to shorten a long website address.
How can I protect a URL?
The easiest and most common way to protect links through our service is to go to our main page, input your links in the text area and press the "Protect your links" button. This will generate a results page where several outputs will be listed, such as generated protected links, direct links and removal links. Go to 'Advanced Options' on the home page to set your preferences before submitting.
How can I delete/remove a protected link?
You can delete a protected link using the unique removal ID that you receive after protecting a URL on the results page. Additionally, if you have an account, you can delete protected links from your account dashboard in the "Manage Links" section.
What's the difference between direct and protected links?
A direct link is a simple forwarder to the original link you inputted using HTTP redirection. These direct links do not have any protection system and are fully compatible with any download managers.
A protected link points to a security page where a CAPTCHA or password form is displayed and must be completed to access the direct/live links.
Benefits of registering an account?
A personal account allows you to manage all protected links you create. You can edit, duplicate, and delete them. View your complete protected links history with advanced search features. Search your submitted links by protected URL or original filename.
How do I recover my account?
Click on the 'Forgot Password' link at the top right of the screen. Enter your registered email address and submit. Check your inbox to recover your username or reset your password.
How to report improper links?
If you hold an intellectual property right or are an agent of such, and believe that Link Storage violates this right, send us a DMCA report using the 'Contact Us' page. We handle these reports as quickly as possible. You can also report links pointing to dangerous materials like viruses, illegal pornography, or anything harmful to our users.
